LEAP - Law Enforcement Against Prohibition

LEAP is the single most credible anti-prohibition group around. They consist ENTIRELY of people who are or were involved directly in the chain of law enforcement, from cops to judges. Their ranks include the retired chief of Seattle's police force.

I am extremely impressed by these guys. I have heard them on local talk radio twice now, as well as on NPR - and they come off articulately and present only the logic and facts by which they have come to the conclusion to oppose the war on drugs in our country. They take calls on the air accusing them of everything from wanting to see children smoking crack to being outright terrorists or traitors. Every time, they take it calmly and turn the insulting call into an opportunity to debunk the rhetoric of the government.

Reason Magazine just posted a great write-up about LEAP, with some great insights and links. Take the time to go read it if you can.
