too far? nah!

My brother is a sommelier.

That means something, you know? It means that he spends a lot of time thinking about wine, drinking wine, tasting wine, and learning about wine. It means that culturally, he's the foodie equivalent of a Star Wars geek who has seen everything Star Wars and can probably kick your ass at Star Wars trivial pursuit even if he gives you a head start (of 4 wedges)... come to think of it, he's that Star Wars geek, too... and a music geek... but...

ANYWAY SO...

I think I found the beginnings of his nemesis. If it had laser beams, it would be a complete threat to him... thankfully, we're not yet at the level of violence between wine-sniffing robots and sommeliers.... When they came for the wine drinkers, I didn't say anything, as I drank Trappist ales...

Friendster for Foodies.
Are you kidding me?

At first, I thought it was a joke... then I realized that it was real... and then I realized that it was actually brilliant. I'm signing up after I finish this post. The idea that you could connect with anonymous foodies for FOOD related purposes (rather than the non-food-meat-market dynamics of Myspace) in your area, where you can search for eateries and review them and whatnot... I love it. I don't think there's anyone else from Toledo yet, so sign up kids.

  1. First of all, I AM NOT A STAR WARS GEEK. I am deeply dipsassionate about these movies, in fact, I now realize that alll of my interest in them is simply misguided wishful dreaming of the feeling of being 7 years old again. In terms of my nemesis, I'd like to use a Star Wars Droid analogy, but that would invalidate the previous thing I said.

So. This is weird. I searched on google for my livejournal username, because I do stupid shit when I'm bored, except that's only my excuse because it makes me seem more normal. Boredness is more normal than excessive paranoia, no doubt.

Point is, we've got the same username. And you're just some random dude.

May I ask where the inspiration for it came for you?
